2009 VII: For Better or For Worse...
There were many of these monumental occasions this year…just a small tid bit of what I documented is here…
2009 VI: Ina May Gaskin
This year I had the honor of an afternoon with the legendary midwife, Ina May…the woman who’s work inspired Ethan and I to deliver our son at home with Midwives…My portraits of her are part of a series I am currently working on. Here is an outtake of her holding our baby O… www.inamay.com www.thefarm.org

2009 IV: Fashions Night Out NYC
I joined Rebekah Miles in NYC for her premiere with the designers, Rodarte, for Opening Ceremony and Fashions Night Out…(the kick-off party for fashion week NY)…Rebekah’s paintings were everywhere! The NY Times interviewed her and fans lined up to get their merchandise autographed! www.rebekahamelia.blogspot.com
2009 III: HI
In May we visited the yurt at 17mile on the Big Island…Jules, Jazzy, Knife and B.
2009 II: Swell
The first big swell of the season and the waves were stacked. Yay! for baby O and I… who found these two vagabond lovebirds in our front yard early morning camped out to surf Rincon…but not before we cooked up a big waffle breakfast with eggs from our chickens!
The Year In Review
For the next few days I will be posting images and events which were monumental for me in the year 2009… To start, I give you Inauguration Morning, Location: The OG Buena Vista Ranch Homestead Obama, waffles and hot cocoa. HOPE? for our unborn baby…and everyone else in America

Five Leaves
Even the washrooms in Brooklyn are quaint… One day we were walking by this adorable corner luncheonette and couldn’t resist going in for a bite…it was the only time I’ve eaten the cuisine of Australia…and in New York! We all loved it. There were beets on our burgers… Turns out it was Heath Ledgers’ joint…I highly recommend it if you are ever in...
Bed
I will forever be working on a series around “bed” inspired by a photography contest I never entered because I too…was in bed. With our newborn baby…
